We’ve all seen and heard about the age of instagram face, and our job isn’t to judge your beauty goals. We want to help you look and feel your best - no matter what that means. It IS our job to make sure you understand the facts about filler, what to expect for your own treatment and results, and then deliver.
That’s why we’ve put together a handy guide to lip filler at our med spa in Corona CA RiverwalkMD. Below we answer the most common questions we get about lip filler with Juvederm and Restylane from patients coming in looking for a perfect pout.
How much filler do it need?
That’s something that is totally up to you. At any filler appointment we start with a consultation and go over what you’d like to achieve. Dr. Ardila and our team will listen to your concerns and make a recommendation based on your needs. From there we will discuss pricing, treatment care, and answer any additional questions you might have. To help, sometimes we recommend patients bring in a photo of their lips (if they’d like to restore volume) or of ones they’d like to replicate.
How much filler is in a syringe?
A little bit goes a long way with filler - 1 syringe has 1ml of product. We like to use this teaspoon image for comparison! Typically, we use about 1-2 syringes for a lip enhancement depending on how much volume you’d like to get.
What’s the difference between all of the filler types & how do I know which kind I need?
Consistency! Fillers range from thin to thicker consistency, and we use different types for different areas in the face. For lips we most commonly use Juvederm Ultra or Juvederm Vollure. However for cheeks, which require more volume and harder structure we would use a thicker consistency filler like Juvederm Volbella. During your appointment Dr. Ardila will assess your lips and determine which filler is best for your goals.
How long will it take (and does it hurt)?
Filler for lips typically takes about 40min, including the consult and treatment. We may numb you which could add on time, but the procedure is mostly painless thanks to numbing and our syringes which have lidocaine. This greatly improves the comfort of any lip procedure in our office. Also our staff is trained in comforting you, we use distraction and tap therapy to soothe you. If you feel nervous at any point we can always take a break and talk you through it!
How long does it last?
Filler lasts anywhere from 9-12 months, depending on how your body metabolizes the filler which is made of HA (Hylauronic Acid) - a naturally occuring sugar that’s found in the body.
How much does it cost?
We always discuss pricing before we begin any treatment and a free consult is a great way to find out what to expect.
Our team of Aesthetic professionals and highly trained Dr. will make you feel at ease during your lip filler appointment. We can help you achieve a perfect pout whether you want to enhance your natural look or restore volume loss.
